BEWARE!!! This may give you a queasy stomach...
I have always known a full moon can reek havoc on people, especially little kids but last night I had one of those nights that almost did me in!
One thing that I have always stress with the girls is that you are not to cut any ones hair including their own. Because they see me do it for a living I have always been paranoid of the fact that they will get a hold of a pair of scissors and chop away. Not to mention they could seriously hurt themselves. So we do our best to make sure the scissors are put up and out of the way for Miah not to get ahold of. Well the sneaky little girl managed to find a pair. They were not our usually household scissors but the little Fiskas kind that are supposed to be generally safe for little ones. Yeah, not so much. maybe grade schoolers.
So what happened? No she didn't cut her hair or hurt herself with them. But it was close to the next big thing. All we heard was our poor cute little doggy, named DOG, yelp really loud. So when we all ran to see what had just happened we just figured Miah was being a little rough with her. And then it all started!
We immediately knew something was wrong, but of course she hid the scissors.
MOM: Miah what happened?
MIAH: Dog wanted hers hairscut.
MOM: Oh my Gosh Miah, Where did you cut dog?
And then all freaking out began. We located the cut. It was a small nip at the tip of her ear.
Thank got not to serious. But what I didn't know was how bad this little cut would turn out to be. 3 baths, lots and lots of towels, and lots of pressure we thought we finally got it to stop. So we got her all dried up and knew she had to go out for a potty break after all the water. And withing a few minutes of being outside we went to let her in and she was covered in blood. It looked as if she had been stabbed or shot.
So back in for one more bath and lots of cuddling. We put our favorite remedy, good old Bag Balm. We caked it on trying to block the bleeding. Then after it finally seemed to stop, I got out the flour and dowsed it on her ear, That seem to do the trick.
Lessons learned today
Fiskas scissors are SHARP!
Band-aids do not work on dogs (Madison's idea)
Always keep New Skin on hand
and never assume that anything is out of reach of a toddler!
I am hoping for a better today and as far as Dog, she is just fine. She wanted to play the whole time and it only looked worse than it really was. They are back to being best buds and Dog has forgiven her.
